After 58 years in their family home in Como, Patricia and Max knew it was time to make life a little simpler. Their much-loved home had been the centre of family life for decades, but the upkeep of a large property had become increasingly demanding.  

“My husband had a lot of maintenance he had to do around the house, and decided that he really didn’t want to do that anymore,” Patricia says. “I was finding it hard with the gardens, and we had a pool as well, and a four-car garage. It was a lot to look after.” 

When searching for their next home, Patricia and Max weren’t looking to compromise on space. “We wanted three bedrooms, two bathrooms and facing north, which we got,” Patricia says of their spacious and modern Woolooware Shores apartment. 

Today, Patricia and Max are enjoying the lifestyle and sense of community they’ve found at Woolooware Shores. From social gatherings and card games to fitness classes and new friendships, their days are filled with opportunities to stay active and connected. 

While leaving behind a home full of memories was emotional, they know they made the right decision. “It was an emotional experience for us,” Patricia reflects. “You’ll never forget that, no matter where you go.”

 
Now settled into their apartment, Patricia and Max are embracing all that retirement living at Woolooware Shores has to offer. Their advice for others considering a move? “Take your time. Don’t rush, because there’s peace and happiness at the other side of the big move.”
